Throws great crested kids. AHS Achievement Medal winner in 2004, CRESTED FRENCH KISS is a pale cream crested double, with a lavender eye, green throat, and both lavender and gold ruffled edges. The bloom is 4" on a 24" scape, although it grows to 32" tall, has five way candelabra branching, and up to 45 buds per scape. Mid season, extended, it blooms thru August. It's very vigorous and hardy semi-evergreen.

Having a 6" bloom 44" high, it's lovely planted with my David Austin roses because it's color is so clear. It was named for Isabel Hibbard, who was a wonderful daylily friend to many of us, mentor to me, and important hybridizer of daylilies. Always in great demand by garden visitors, stock is limited. NIGHT INTO LIGHT - Color Changer - In the morning, it's dark velvety purple with a navy band and yellow green throat. As the day progresses, first the sepals start to lighten to pale lavender, then the petals lighten to change to violet with a navy band, and white midribs appear on the petals. By late afternoon depending on light and temperature, the plant finishes with grey/lavender petals, with a darker band, chrome yellow eye and light cream lavender sepals.

The large blooms are 6.5" when recurved, and 10" when open, with 21 buds and three way branching. When established and allowed to set deep roots, becomes 25% polytepalous.
