(Sayers, 2004) Polytepalous Double
A high percentage, 90%, polytepalous double, LARRY YOUNG'S WOW is a clear, cool shade of lavender, with a light yellow/green throat, white midrib and ruffled petals. The bloom is 6" on a 24" scape. It has three way branching, 21 to 28 buds per scape and blooms mid season into August. It's hardy semi-evergreen, and vigorous, fertile both ways, diploid, and has been a great parent for me, throwing cool, clear colored polytepals. It was named after Larry Young, a true gentleman and daylily friend from Long Island, who spent a visit to the garden rooted in front of this plant just saying "Wow!" (sdlg #130.98) (Released in 2013)
