I'm Pat Sayers and I love gardening. My garden is located on the north shore of Long Island, New York, up in the hills of Huntington. We were in zone 6 until last year. All of our stock has been grown in the back field for the past 10 years down to 9 below zero, with lots of freeze thaw cycles. Our plants have to be not only hardy but vigorous as well. I love building "secret garden rooms" and have a maze of them on just over an acre. But, at this point, maintaining the garden is becoming difficult for this old girl. I will be selling until my stock is depleted, then eliminating the selling beds, and keeping a small garden just for my pleasure.
I love chatting and accept speaking engagements here in the US and in Canada, and will continue doing this. Topics are varied, from 'Building Secret Garden Rooms', to 'Old Farmers Tales and Tricks', or how about 'Sex in the Garden,' which is all about hybridizing new plants, or 'Tried and True Vigorous Daylilies and their Culture', ,Perennial Companions for Color All Season', as well as 'Hands on Flower Show Workshops".
We also host " Tea in the Garden" with English tea, scones, finger sandwiches and pastries this year. All is served in antique china, on little tables throughout the Garden Rooms. This is for garden clubs and plant societies, only, by appointment. Call (516) 650-2320 for additional information.
